Industrial wastewater treatment

Sludge treatment
The liquid content of sludge from municipal and industrial wastewater treatment and waste from other operations has a high impact on disposal costs. Alfa Laval supplies equipment that cover the entire sludge treatment process, including thickening, dewatering, heating, cooling, heat recovery, digestion and pasteurization, as well as advanced control systems for optimizing plant operation and reducing manpower requirements.
Tertiary treatment
Most often some form of tertiary treatment is necessary after industrial and municipal wastewater treatment to achieve an effluent quality good enough for discharge to a nearby recipient (sea, lake, etc.). And it is a must if treated wastewater is to be reused. Alfa Laval offers two types of tertiary treatment that produce effluent clean enough to meet strict discharge criteria or for water reuse.
