Box cooler for Marine

  • Contact
  • Box Cooler: is a sea chest that contains a tubular heat exchanger, used to directly cool the engine water with the surrounding seawater.

    Construction material: CuNi 90/10.

Hull Structure - Box Coolers CuNi 90/10

Hull structure

The sea chest requires careful planning. The sea chest inlets and outlets must provide a continuous flow of seawater across the tubes of the Box Cooler. The inlet slots are located at the bottom of the sea chest and must be arranged horizontally, with the outlet slots positioned on the side of the sea chest. The outlet slots should be located as close to the top of the sea chest as possible. The discharge slots must always remain below the waterline, even when the vessel is in a ballast (no-load) condition.

The Box Cooler is installed in one of two ways: Athwartship (across the hull) or Longitudinal (along the hull).
