Our shell and tube heat exchangers are used in many comfort and industry applications for heating and cooling fluids. They consist of a shell with traditional plain tubes or enhanced surface tubes for high thermal performance. The fluids can be liquids or gases, one of which flows inside the tubes while the other flows outside the tubes within the shell. There are single-phase or two-phase heat exchangers, and the latter is used to either boil or condense fluids.

The Aalborg EH (formerly VESTA EH) is an electrically heated shell-and-tube heat exchanger, ideal for heating oil or water.

Aalborg EH-S
The Alfa Laval Aalborg EH-S flow electric heater is designed for steam production. This horizontal unit operates in connection with an existing boiler, acting as a steam receiver. It provides a load capacity of up to 270 kW, with standard design parameters of 16 bar(g) and 204°C. The Aalborg EH-S complies with European standards and is readily approved by classification societies.
Aalborg EH-U
Ideal for heating engine coolant, the Alfa Laval Aalborg EH-U is a direct-flow electric heater. The baffles optimize the heating surface area, resulting in a very compact and highly efficient unit. This horizontal unit offers power from 15 to 270 kW, with standard design parameters of 10 bar(g) and 95°C. The standard Aalborg EH-U product line is approved by all major marine classification societies and also holds CE/PED certification.

Aalborg MD
The Aalborg MD-T sleeve-tube heat exchanger is designed for heating seawater, ideal for tank cleaning. It handles seawater flow rates from 180–380 m³/h using steam as the heating medium, with design conditions of 16 bar(g) and 204°C. The Aalborg MD-T is approved by all major marine classification societies and has CE/PED certification.
