On 20/08/2015, after more than 15 days running system tests for the Wide-Gap-200S Heat exchanger which cools the waste water, the investor SABECO - Saigon Cuchi Brewery signed an acceptance on capacity reaching for the replacement and upgrading of the heat exchanger.
The old cooling system is Model S-42 supplied by SONDEX.
When SaturnEC inspected, the actual capacity of the cooling system only achieved up to 7m3/h. The plates of PHE are always blocked. The plant has to run CIP constantly to clean the plates, and run the pump through by-pass line, because the design capacity for the wastewater pumping systems is 190 m3/h.
After many propose for upgrading solutions, the customer finally agrees to replace the old heat exchanger by new Wide-Gap200S-FM. Its plates have a cross-section width of 11mm. The design capacity is 200m3/h according to Alfa Laval's CAS program.
The total EPC contract was completed in 4 months, including the installation. However the installation is very difficult due to large size and mass volume of the equipment (nearly 3 tons). Besides, the heat exchanger is transported to the installation location in the basement of the water treatment area without any support for lifting the vehicle.
Waste water treatment system of Saigon Cu Chi Brewery now has been in operation as the initial design capacity of 190 m3/hour, ensuring stable temperature of waste water as required by the process.
